How location works

ShotLogger requests precise location only to record your shots. Tracking runs while you have a round open, via an Android foreground service that shows a notification while active, and stops when the round ends. We do not track your location in the background when you are not playing a round. You can decline or revoke the location permission at any time in your device settings; some distance and map features will then be unavailable.

How we use your data

To provide and improve the app; compute your statistics, handicap and clan/coach rankings; sync your data across your devices; and communicate with you about the service. Our legal bases are performance of our agreement with you and, where relevant, your consent (e.g. location) and our legitimate interest in operating and improving ShotLogger.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal data and we do not use it for third‑party advertising. Data you generate may be visible to others where you choose to participate — for example your scores in a clan ranking, or your rounds shared with a coach. We use service providers (processors) that host and run the platform on our behalf, including our web host [Combell/hosting provider, EU]. Providers act only on our instructions.

Where data is stored

Data is processed and stored on servers located in the European Union. Traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).

Retention

We keep your account and gameplay data for as long as your account is active, and delete or anonymise it within a reasonable period after you close your account or request deletion, unless we must keep it longer by law.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, and object to processing. To exercise any right, or to request deletion of your account and data, contact info@shotlogger.net. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit).

Account & data deletion

You can request deletion of your account and associated data by e‑mailing info@shotlogger.net from your registered address. We will action verified requests within 30 days.
